Thank you all.

November 16, 2010

Just a note to say a big thank you to all the game authors. I didn’t have as much time as i’d have liked this time around, hence the lack of activity over the past couple of weeks.

I very much enjoyed playing the games and can only apologize to all those whose games i didn’t get to.

Thanks again.

See you next time.

IF comp 2010 – Ninja’s Fate

October 29, 2010

Ninja’s Fate is a tribute to the late Paul Allen Panks. He was a true character.  Never mainstream and never attempting to be.[…]

I can’t say i know his games very well, but the dedication alone makes me want to play them.  I think it deserves points just for that.

R.I.P. Paul Allen Panks.

IF comp 2010 – Mite

October 29, 2010

Well this is cute.  Very cute.  Looks like a sort of fairy tale.  In a fairy world.  Am i a fairy?  Oh Jesus, please… don’t let me be a fairy.  Brings back so many bad school-day type of memories.

I’m not?

A pixy lad you say?  With pointy, green ears?

Fair enough.

IF comp 2010 – R

October 29, 2010

I’ve never played a Scott Adams adventure before.  I’ve heard an awful lot about them over the years, and am aware that there is some sort of adventure creation kit for writing them.  But i’ve never actually played one.  Is that bad?

Well, let’s see.

Oh crap…!!

IF comp 2010 – The 12:54 to Asgard

October 29, 2010

Well hello Mr Wheeler.  You are a dude, right?  I’ve heard of you.  Nice blurb by the way, and i see you have a lovely colour piccy too.  Always good to have a nice colour piccy.  Puts me in a good mood right from the start.

Oh… and you get an immediate extra point for this,

[…]Is this it?  Is this all there is?

I knoooowwww… i feel the same way.

I’m gonna assume you’re a dude though.  Let’s play some dude-type stuff then.

IF comp 2010 – Pen and Paint

October 29, 2010

Pen and Paint…

It’s a game about weird shit and random but exactly the same compass direction descriptions.  At least, in the forest book area it is.

Be prepared to play this while referring to the walkthrough constantly.

It’s true mind-reading stuff.

IF comp 2010 – Sons of the Cherry

October 25, 2010

Yeah… see, i never really look forward to these CYOA choicescript type games.  They always staunch interactivity to some degree i feel.  And this one’s about witchcraft too, which is just about kind of ok-ish but never really holds my attention anyway.

But, you never know.  Maybe, just maybe…
